English: 40 units of credit with the following stipulation: Students, who have not passed the Language Arts portion of the California State High School Exit Exam in their junior year, will be required to take a course specifically designed to help them pass the exam.
Mathematics: 30 units of credit with the following stipulations:
• Students must pass the equivalent of Algebra 1. This course will be aligned to the California State High School Exit Exam and is a graduation requirement.
• Students who do not pass the mathematics portion of the CAHSEE will be required to take a course specifically designed to help them pass the exam.
• Students who pass Algebra in middle school will be given credit for meeting the Algebra high school graduation requirement. However, students are still required to take and pass 30 units of mathematics while in high school.
• Some students may take four years to complete the m Mathematics requirement.
• 10 math credits may be taken in designated courses outside the Math department (e.g., Accounting, Metal, Wood, and Drafting) and may be counted as mathematics credit provided the student has passed the math portion of the class and meets the Algebra I graduation requirement.
Science (Physical 10, Life 10): 20 units of credit.
Physical Education: 20 units of credit.
Visual & Performing Art/Foreign Language: 10 units of credit.
Social Studies: 30 units of credit earned by
passing the following prescribed courses of study:
• 10 units of credit in World History.
• 10 units of credit in United States History.
• 5 units of credit in American Government and Civics.
• 5 units of credit in Economics.
Elective Credits: 70 units of credit. Classes are taken as needed to complete the total unit requirement of 220.
