CALIFORNIA HEALTHY KIDS SURVEY – October 2009

During the week of October 19, 2009, students in grades 5, 7, 9 or 11, and all alternative education students will be asked to participate in the California Healthy Kids Survey, sponsored by the California Department of Education.

While the survey participation is voluntary, this survey is required every two years in order for the district to receive funding that supports prevention, intervention and counseling programs at our schools. It also provides essential and reliable health risk assessment and resilience information to schools, districts, and communities and helps guide the development of more effective health, prevention, and youth development programs that promote better health among youth and combat problems such as drug abuse and violence.
