Letter from Superintendent

Dear CRPUSD Community,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year Cotati-Rohnert Park! I hope you had an opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy the summer break. It is a great time to be part of the CRPUSD Community. If you are new, welcome to our district where every student connects with amazing adults who are invested in the CRPUSD Community.  If you are returning, welcome back!

There is no better feeling than the start of a new school year. Regardless of your role or title, we are all part of the CRPUSD family and we share in the excitement and anticipation that comes with  our students back in the classroom. On July 18, 2022 we welcomed the Richard Crane students and families. The positive energy was contagious and we look forward to opening the rest of our doors on August 16, 2022. Transitional Kindergarten  and Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 12:00pm for the first week of school.

My top priority, along with the Board of Education, is to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff.  You can find our most current protocols  here and they are aligned to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) guidelines which became effective July 1, 2022.  As we know, our mitigation strategies and protocols could change as we continue to work closely with our public health experts to make informed decisions.  I want to thank you for your flexibility,  understanding, and support.

District-wide, we want to ensure that we provide a rigorous and equitable educational experience to all students. We know that learning recovery will be a priority as we continue to navigate  the end of the pandemic. Federal ESSER funds will be used to enhance student supports, including mental health support. Every step forward will be student-centered and focused on supporting student learning.

I look forward to the excitement of the new year, and I thank you for your dedication to our District, our community, and the students and families that we serve.

I wish everyone a great first day and a productive school year.
Sincerely,

Mayra L. Perez, Ed.D.
