Board of Trustees
The Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District Board of Education consists of five members who are elected by Trustee Area to serve four-year terms. All registered votes within the District’s boundaries may vote for all School Board Elections, regardless of the Trustee Area you reside.
This five-member Board is the policy-making body that governs the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District. The Board is charged with providing a quality educational program for students in grades transitional kindergarten through 12 in accordance with the California Constitution, the laws of the State, and adopted Board policies.
Two student board members, one each from Rancho Çotate High School and Technology High School, serve one-two year term as student representatives.
Compensation
Board members in the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District are compensated for their public service and receive a monthly compensation of $216 dollars for their term in office.
Board members may participate in the health and welfare benefits program provided for district employees.
Health and welfare benefits for Board members shall be no greater than that received by district's non-safety employees with the most generous schedule of benefits. (Government Code 53208.5)
Election Procedures
Per Education Code, any person is eligible to be a member of the Board of Education, without further qualifications, if he/she is 18 years of age or older, a citizen of the state, a resident of the school district, a registered voter, and not legally disqualified from holding civil office.
